Update from the yanks of Elemae!

Elemae update: end of Summer 2012

Tracking for the post-break-up, yet return-to-form NEW EP of songs over this Summer, is finally coming to a conclusion…with a twist. Most of the recording was engineered by Dan Coutant (Joshua) at Nada Recording Studio in New York and has given way to some very fine raw tracks, combining all the ebb and flow elements of an Elemae album yet this time within 5 strong songs. Members of the band over time (5 of the 7), got together to flesh out the material which was originally demoed and gigged with acoustically. All couldn’t be happier with the sonic make-over the songs took. The twist? The final chapter of recording though, has now taken place across the ocean in Whitstable, England at Emeline Studios. Vocals for three songs were tracked at the newly built studio by engineer Ian Sadler. Results coming this Winter, hopefully early 2013, as the “Tilling The Fallow” EP.

In related news, Justin Wilson [Red Animal War/Saboteur] and his Leaders & Flares film identity, along with Mats Ek, was brought on board to film and produce a video for the Elemae track “Slow,” featuring actresses Sierra Sintic and Camilla Fredin. The song has added instrumentation and a new mix (since the Lamp Light The Fire compilation) on this forthcoming EP. This mix will be present in the video version. Footage was shot in both Dallas, Texas and Gothenberg, Sweden, and was edited by Wilson back at his studio. Keep an eye out closer to their EP release date for it’s launch.
